Sunday Jazz Cafe
with Sherry Jazz Ensemble

Sunday Jazz Cafe at the Sands End Arts & Community Centre (SEACC) is a monthly gathering that celebrates music and community. It started in the Fall of 2023, when a young piano prodigy called into the Centre: "My name is Elia Do Mar, and I'm looking for jazz musicians." That was music to the ears of our very own Dave Davies, who provides the professional drum beat on which the Sherry Jazz Ensemble is based. Since then, the Sunday Jazz Cafe has taken place on the third Sunday of every month, with themes like Blue Note, Latin, and Be-bop, providing a platform for young and emerging jazz musicians to showcase their talents and gain performing experience. It also serves as a vibrant hub for the local community, bringing people together through the shared joy of live music. So please join us in the Walnut Tree Cafe for an exciting afternoon of swinging tunes, community spirit, and the chance to support the rising stars of the jazz world!
