Chelsea and Westminster - Hospital Concert
As a charity we aim to “relieve the needs of people who are sick, convalescent, disabled or infirm by providing comfort in the form of outreach musical entertainment”, and in pursuit of that goal on May 28 a trio of our young rising jazz stars performed at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to an enthusiastic reception. CW+ coordinator Abigail Balkitis commented “This is not less impressive than anything I have seen in professional jazz clubs lately”, a true compliment from a avid jazz fan, and further proof - if any were needed - of the power of our music to enrich the community.
The Sherry Music Academy Volunteering Programme gives our community-minded young musicians a chance to repay society for their good fortune, while boosting their skills, personal growth, and scholastic credentials. Reports will be submitted to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme for the credit of the members who took part.
