Our Summer Gala Concert was held at the Royal Academy of Music Duke’s Hall on July 5th, marking the high point of our 2025-2026 yearly programme. The Repertoire included Handel, Vivaldi, Peter Warlock and Benjamin Britten, and was rapturously received by a large audience. We all look forward to next year’s event which will take place on July 4th 2027, again at this magnificent venue. December 2025 saw the launch of the Sherry Music Academy Full-Year Programme. The year began with three days of intensive rehearsals and training for the Christmas concert, which was enthusiastically received by a full house at Sands End Arts & Community Centre. SIR JOHN LILLIE On Wednesday December 17th the Sherry Youth Orchestra returned to Sir John Lillie School Fulham, for a performance of our 2025 Christmas concert. The staff and pupils were treated to a selection of seasonal favourites from classical to pop, and by special request from the audience we added Wham's “Last Christmas” with the whose school singing along. On November 19 th , Sherry Music Academy held a workshop at Sir John Lillie Primary School. Pupils were introduced to the “Three Italian Sisters” - violin, viola and cello. After learning something about the instruments, the school was treated to individual and ensemble musical performances. Then there was a singalong in which the school choir was accompanied by the Sherry Chamber Orchestra. A good time was had by all, and we look forward to returning soon to Sir John Lille
